Undergraduate
Summer 2012 Registration

COURSE OFFERINGS

Students may review course offerings beginning February 3, 2012 using either of the following methods:

  • Go to inside.loyola.edu and login, then click Course Listings under the Quick Links tab. You may use Course Listings to save sections to a preferred list prior to or during the open registration period; however, you must use WebAdvisor to actually register for those courses.
  • Go to inside.loyola.edu and login, then click Search for Sections under the WebAdvisor Registration tab. Click section name and course title hyperlinks for more information, including prerequisites, corequisites, restrictions, and course descriptions.

WEB REGISTRATION

Continuing undergraduate students may use WebAdvisor from any computer with web access to register for summer courses. Students must know their Username and Password (same as Loyola e-mail and Blackboard) to access WebAdvisor. If you do not know your Username and Password or you need to have your Password reset, contact the Student Technology Center at 410-617-5555.

To access WebAdvisor, go to inside.loyola.edu and login, then click Register for Sections (Undergraduate only) under the WebAdvisor Registration tab.

Note: WebAdvisor operates effectively on the following platforms: PCs running Windows with Internet Explorer v.6.0–8.0 or Firefox v.2.x–3.0.x, and Macs running Firefox v.3.0.x and up or Safari v.5.0.2 and up.

When working within WebAdvisor, it is best not to use the browser Back button. Also, do not keep a number of tabs open, as it will slow the registration process. More than six open tabs will result in an error message: You cannot open more than 6 tabs at one time. Please close any you are finished with.

When can I use WebAdvisor?

WebAdvisor will open March 12, 2012 at 9 a.m. and close May 4, 2012 at 5 p.m. Summer registration will be temporarily closed on March 14, March 21, and March 28, 2012 due to Fall 2012 registration.

Who is eligible to register for the summer using WebAdvisor?

Only continuing undergraduate students, including those students studying abroad, are eligible to use WebAdvisor for summer registration.

Newly admitted, readmitted, first-time transfer, visiting, or special students must register in person. Contact the Academic Advising and Support Center (AASC) for an appointment, 410-617-5050.

How do I prepare for Summer Web Registration?

  1. Review course offerings using Course Listings or WebAdvisor Search for Sections beginning February 3, 2012.

  2. Consult with AASC in-person (MH 043), by phone (410-617-5050), or e-mail (study abroad students: aasc@loyola.edu). They will advise you on the courses needed to complete your degree requirements and check for completion of, or current registration for, necessary prerequisites.

  3. Provide AASC with evidence of permission for all courses requiring permission of the instructor, unless the department gives electronic permission.

  4. After advising you about your course eligibility, AASC will enter an electronic code for each course giving you access to register using WebAdvisor.

How do I use Web Registration?

Instructions for using Web Registration are available by clicking the following link: Summer Registration Instructions.

How do I pay for courses when using WebAdvisor?

Students using WebAdvisor will be billed for summer registration charges and fees. The tuition discount for registrations received by April 6, 2012 will be applied after WebAdvisor registration closes on May 4, 2012. Students who wish to pay prior to the billing date must contact Student Administrative Services (410-617-5047) in order to obtain the correct tuition amount. Bills will be sent to the student's home address on May 11, 2012. Payment is due upon receipt of the summer bill.

MAIL-IN REGISTRATION

Paper registration forms are available at the Records Office (MH 141), or call 410-617-2263 to have a form mailed to you. (Note: All completed Registration Request Forms must include the section number after the course key; ex., CH101.01 General Chemistry I.)

Mail-in registrations with payment in full will be accepted through May 11, 2012 for the first Summer Session and through July 10, 2012 for the second Summer Session. After these dates, registrations must be signed by a administrator from the Academic Advising and Support Center (MH 043) and submitted in person to the Records Office (MH 141). Third party billing (payment by employer or agency) is acceptable in place of payment if the registration is accompanied by the proper forms which have been approved by the third party. If registration, with tuition and fees, has not been submitted by 4:30 p.m., May 11, 2012 for the first summer session or 6 p.m., July 10, 2012 for the second summer session, an additional non-refundable late payment fee of $25 will be charged.

Submission of registration by a student incurs the obligation to pay all tuition and fees. Requests to withdraw from a course must be submitted in writing on a Change of Registration Form (applies to all students once Web Registration closes). Non-payment of tuition, mere non-attendance at class, or permission from an instructor to withdraw from a course does not constitute official withdrawal from the course. Unless approval is received from the Academic Advising and Support Center, a grade of F will be entered on the student's permanent record. In case of inability to return to campus, please contact the Academic Advising and Support Center, 410-617-5050 or aasc@loyola.edu.

STUDY ABROAD STUDENT REGISTRATION

Study abroad students who wish to take summer courses at Loyola University Maryland or another institution must follow the same course approval process as students studying on the Baltimore Campus; however, all communication is done via e-mail.
